This was my dad's birthday and so it began by us giving him his presents. Our flight left the airport at 10:40, and so we woke up at 6:30, which wasnt too early. It was expected to arrive in London City Airport at around 12:00, and afterwards we had to travel on a DLR (Docklands Light Railway) train to Canning Town and then change to the Underground Jubilee Line, where we got off at Southwark. We stayed at a small Travelodge, 5 minutes walk from the station. During the afternoon we went a wander as our hotel was pretty close to the river Thames. We crossed over to visit Leicster Square and look for a film to see on Wednesday evening, and it certainly gave us a lot of ideas. We then made our way back to the other side of the river for dinner, where my Dad had already chosen a restaurant named "The Real Greek" for his birthday tea. It served Mezes and Tapas, meaning we could try lots of different things. At around 8 o'clock, we walked back to the hotel, extremely tired after our long day.

Today we went to Thorpe Park, just outside London. We had to wake up at 7:00 as our train from London Waterloo station left at 9:20. The stop at which we got off was called Staines and from there we had to get a direct bus to the theme park. We arrived just after the opening time, but the queues were all still very small, even on the massive rides. There were 5 main thriller rollercoasters known as:COLLOSUS, SAW:THE RIDE, NEMESIS INFERNO, STEALTH and THE SWARM. They were all amazing! I cant even pick one as my favourite! For dinner that night we didnt want to walk very far, so we chose a Nandos around the corner from the hotel. By the time we were done it was around 8 o'clock and so we went back to the hotel for the night as we were so tired!

Our last full day! We decided to spend it sightseeing - as you cant come to London without looking at all of its amazing monuments and architecture. First we went on a tour of the Tower of London. It had lots of things to see, and gave us a real insight to Londons history. I then wanted to go shopping before having dinner and so we walked up to Oxford and Regent Street to admire all of the expensive shops. We were planning to have an early dinner at Pizza Express (which we did) and then go to see a film as i previously mentioned. However, it was a very warm sunny day and so we didnt want to be trapped inside when we could shop around in the sun. Afterwards we took the tube from Leicester Square back to Waterloo and then changed lines to get to Southwark. At around 9 o'clock, my dad, brother and i made our way to the bar downstairs to play cards an take advantage of the free wifi for the last time. We finished up around 10 o'clock and went upstairs to bed.

Today we began by walking to Westminster for a couple of hours before we had to check out of the hotel. We then got the underground and DLR back to London City Airport to catch our flight at 2:20. After we arrived back, a large Emirates Dream Liner was to take off at our local airport and so hundreds of people were out to watch. It was a fantastic ending to our holiday!
Many of the photos I took were horrible (as you can see my face in all of them) but my old laptop has also broken and so lately I have been trying to fix it and my photos to continue with my blog posts! I will see you again as soon as I can!
